Hello, I'm Kimberly. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in the small town (original, right?) of Lampe, MO, perfectly placed in the beautiful Ozarks. I love shopping, trying on new clothes that I can't afford (especially anything with sparkles ;) and I'm pretty sure I could play with makeup all day long! I'm addicted to boots and iced coffee. Jimmy Fallon always makes me laugh; George Strait still makes me cry. I love music, and I live to sing.
When I was 5, I wore out my LeAnn Rimes cd, singing along to Blue (thank you Patsy Cline for this wonderful song). Yes, I was that annoying little girl - loving life, dressing myself up like a Glamour Shots model, prancing around and singing at the top of my lungs! ...I wasn't very popular on the school bus.... And as everyone in family knows, I still haven't shut up!
Singing is my passion and when someone hears me, I want them to feel what I feel. If music fails to evoke emotion, then how can it impact one's life? I don't see myself as only a singer, but also a songwriter. I'm currently signed with Nashville's Lamon Records, and in 2013 we released my first full length album, Simple Life. I'm proud to say that all of the songs for the album are my originals!
Music is art; Country music is storytelling, and that's one of the many reasons I love writing for this genre! People ask me all the time about my songwriting. I approach each song as an opportunity to write from the heart, taking inspiration from personal experiences -- what I see, hear, feel and believe -- and create music I enjoy.
We live in world filled with so many distractions, probably now more than ever. Like so many others, I want to live out my dreams and not be held back by the little, day-to-day problems that so easily become roadblocks. The challenge is to neither stray to the left nor the right, but to move forward. Pushing. Running. Chasing. Holding onto truth. Keeping life simple.
Trust God. Love family. And make music country ;)
